220.3 DeBacco ’12 “Snowball”

As the picture shows this plant has a great growth pattern and seems to be very heat tolerant as the leaves did not flag. I guess I just chose the wrong pumpkin. What looked like a wining pumpkin, ended up aborting after record setting heat. So, I reluctantly removed the plant out of the patch. Sadly this same situation happened to my 1725 Harp so I am now down two plants simply because I could not get a pumpkin set on them.

This picture shows the plant just before removal and there are plenty of healthy leaves to push a pumpkin, and after the time I spent breeding Snowball it was hard to pull this plant. I can say that my inspection of the plant during the process showed positives signs with no evidence of disease and a strong root system.
