I want to get my seeds started and was curious on how long you should soak them, and should it just be plain water? or should I add something to the soaking liquid?

I have luck with 1 hour soak in just water, after filing edges.

I dont believe that every seed you have had is bad. Might it be the grower doesnt have 1/10th of the skill he thinks he has. Maybe you have mistaken disease in seeds for errors in the growth of them. All your chemistry manifests itself with problems in the plants. Maybe you should show some intelligence and actually listen to the techniques that have been proven to grow big.

After doing test after test for the last two months I went with a 4 hour soak and then into the incubator at 90 degrees. After 17 hours the first seeds germinated. We are at 28 hours as I type this and 18 of the 21 seeds have germinated and are now in pots. The last three should germinate by the morning I would expect.

Amelio, you should try the method where you find the nearest lake or stream, after you get to the nearest body of water swim to the very bottom be sure to bring the seed with you. Stay down at the bottom with the seed for the whole hour. Make sure the temperature is exactly 72F. It also helps if you breathe in some water. You may feel like you are about to pass out but that only means it is working.

Went 21 for 21 in less than 48 hours. I used a peroxide/water mixture for the soak at a 1:4 ratio.

I did 2 hour soak with Essentials product...12 year old seedZ germed at 86 degreeZ in four dayZ. Look at my diary for picZ...I filed lightly and put them in pre warmed soil moistened with Essentials 1-0-1 (2 oz per gallon) and seaweed 50% solution...on top of my germination mat with thermostat with a Aluminum foil around a 5" presoaked peat potZ with holeZ in the sideZ.....PictureZ say it all....

How did you do the Essentials WiZ? Just a little in a cup? What was your breakdown on that small of an amount?

Wiz, I've been dying to ask.... do you make hats out of that tin foil, too? actually it probably does distribute the heat well, similar to a copper clad fry pan. it is just that every time you post it I think of tin foil hats, so I had to ask, just for fun.

One day i forgot my seeds in water all over the night, nice germination after.... You sould prefer tempered water as cold water. Good luck

If I soak my seeds after their side edges are filed, should I use diluted liquid fertizer or fill strength?
