There is a pumpkin show in York at the end of October with £500 for first prize. It’s not a GPC show this year but I’m very hopeful that it would be next year.
Stuart and I won’t be taking a pumpkin there so it does give one of our Northern growers a good opportunity for some good prize money and have a nice day out without having to drive too far.

I might just take a pumpkin to that one if it holds out until then. It will be my first weigh off which and while a prize isn't the focus it's nice to know I'll have a shot at it.

Still toying with the idea to bring one down the London for the 7th although I will not be able to be present for the weighing due to work.

Your welcome, we were thinking of taking a pumpkin to London but by the time you pay the congestion charge and fuel it’s not cheap. BCC2 have asked if we will be going so perhaps we might have to go but were not sure at the moment.
I would be very happy to have a GPC show up North to support our growers that can’t make it to us down here so fingers crossed.

I think as long as we get a couple of big pumpkins to the show they will be happy to join up.

Wow his is amazing your kids very local for me I don't think I will be taking my first pumpkin it's nothing against you big guys pumpkins 187lb :-( but really enjoying the giant pumpkin growing and will be a good day out
