Big perch are pretty rare nowadays, it's beautiful fish, clever and not easy to catch. I constantly change tactics to seduce them. Since 3 weeks, I caught about 20 good pikes ( another big one this morning) and 50 perch ( including a dozen of big ones).
Richard, Poitier is about 200km from where I'm living, Very long roots !

LOL Scott
I tend to use bigger baits to select the best perch : 110 Flasminnow, Suissex n°3 golden or silver depending the weather, big lobworms or supple lures on a drop shot rigs, life bait. In Ebro river, carpers catch many many small carp but a few big ones now appears : 50's and 60's mostly common.
