How Quick Things Can Change
This is a prime example of "tears before breakfast" with shock as the sheet was uncovered in the morning to reveal some odd pustule growth on the pumpkin. There is also some water soaking noticed in the surrounding tissue since it seems the source for the growth is just under the surface of the pumpkin.
The area this issue developed can be seen in the previous posting and never gave any signs or hints there was an issue. There is a surface crack in the area that developed many weeks ago and did not deepen or provide any sign of a problem, up to this point. However, now the logical response is to remove the infected area and see what lies underneath.
