7am today, upper patch hoop sensor says 75 degrees...nice!

The soil has warmed up a bit, Dave and I have been monitoring this over the past 10 days or so and I'm glad I did not plant early, when the soil was below 65 degrees inside the hoophouse at 6 inches deep. It is at 68 degrees now in the morning, so we are off to the races.

In our region (especially me and Chad in the mountains)soil temperature when planting our seedlings is one of the most important factors in having a good growing year. I have stunted a few good seedlings in earlier years and I'm convinced that soil temperature is a key part.
