the plastic held pretty good overnight even with the couple inches of rain. one spot sagged down from the weight of the water and broke about 6 or 7 powdery mildew affected crispy leaves. i got that back in order this morning as more rain is on the way. the 3/4 inches of rain before the plastic went up was needed, the other 2 inches were shed off to the outside of the plants, so all in all, the plastic was worth the effort yesterday. after all the rains are done tomorrow, i will straighten out the plastic a bit and re-secure it and tighten again after it has loosened up a bit from the pounding. 7 broken pm affected leaves i will take as opposed to the extra couple inches of rain on the 1385 plant and possible splittsville. and when it is only 65 on sunday and sunny, i should be at least in the low to mid 70s under the plastic. blankets will be coming out for over the pumpkins in a couple nights as it is getting down to the low 50s and high 40s for 3 or 4 nights. pretty crappy stretch of weather here for the final push, but boo hoo, whatcha gonna do.
