Here in NY we can sell a nice looking light Orange, round fruit for .75 -$1.00 a lb.

Yeah, a buck a pound for big ones. Over a thousand can be more plus delivery. Tom sited the most significant variables that effect cost. Carving can run into extra expense (opportunity) for accomplished carvers.
