            | OLD-ROOKIE | NILES , CALIF | I have my first thumb size female on my plant;and oneof my chickens pecked a hole in it.
Does any one know if the hole will heal and not show
any damage later on if it pollenates?
I gave the chicken some "Time Out " so it wont peck at it
 again!!!!

            | cojoe | Colorado | It will leave a huge scar. If she picked through the thin shell there will be hole into the seed cavity as the pumpkin develops. Fried chicken or baked? | 6/7/2013 12:37:44 PM |

            | Fissssh | Simi valley, ca | It is possible that it will grow with only a scar,But it is also possible it will have problem later too ,I would chose another if possible , It may also abort soon anyways ! I have had heavy damage when young & still make it though ! | 6/8/2013 1:23:10 AM |

            | VTWilbur | Springfield, VT | If it didn't go into the seed cavity you are ok. A nice scar will be on the fruit. I had crows peck the only set on the plant in 2011 it had a big scar. The pumpkin happened to be the only survivor that year | 6/8/2013 8:28:24 AM |
