Here I find where you don't have mulch or something covering the ground there is a lot of sunlight on the soil and it heats up which burns the tips as they bake above it and till the. Plant reaches maturity uv can still burn even on a cloudy day

Larry: Good post. I've also noticed that the high UV index and rediculous high-heat..... during these few weeks before and after the (June 21st) summer solstice really hurts some of the newer leaves even with the 30% Sunblock net. Steve C

I agree with mulch! We added some straw to change the soil surface color and temps are lower. I was disappointed the shade cloth didn’t help more? Thanks for chiming in Steve cause I seen you were using 30% also and was wondering how yours is working
