I've never said it but on BP.c: 'Slow and steady wins the race'; Oh, so dated, lol! There was just a post about this very subject and I wonder, how are you yet fertilizing or gonna be watering your plants? My belief is that the nutrients in the soil are used up by any plant in its immediate vicinity and its current roots can only extract so much, hence probably why pumpkin plants developed the ability to extend new roots downward from the vines as they lay down. That Lowe's plant looks super-nice, anyway! eric g
