I posted before I saw this. Dig until you see no brown then spray zerotol. There's a gap between the stem and the fruit and you can usually get it before it hits the inside of the fruit.
I had my biggest fruit yet do this and got her all cleaned out. Sometime between then and weigh off time she got a small hole in the bottom and I couldn't even bring her to the weigh off.
