Looks a little like a Lunga di Napoli, just a little different shape and colour. I have one going that might be about that size, depending on how big the grower is...lol.

From what I was reading it looks like they often carry resistance to fusarium. They have good potential as a rootstock for other fusarium prone melons.

That is great to hear you are growing one! Is the one you are growing just a regular old seed or is it a strain that is known for size? This guy in the photo obviously is growing an elite strain.

I'm not growing one myself but I saw one (well, many) in the garden of a lady who spoke no English so I did an internet search. She wasnt growing this long strain, hers were a lumpy round shape, but very large 60+ lbs...
