Are you up for a comment from me, Russ? I can confine my guessing to my own diary... and probably should. So I'll just say, awesome, its great to see people grabbing the tiger by the tail.

What I wonder is what about oxygen levels. Co2 is great during the day, but do elevated oxygen levels help as well, especially at night when cellular respiration happens?

I'm feeling Russ might be giving this a try soon!;) If I didn't work 80 hours a week, I'd definitely pull my co2 generator back out but for now I just don't have the time like this retired dentist. lol

Ok here it goes then, Russ.

I think this is the right idea, but according to research, upping CO2 levels will also change (reduce) the number of stomata in the leaves. Does this lower the transpiration rate, and hence the uptake of some minerals? My guess would be Co2 plus some additional magnesium would really hit the nail on the head.
Just a hunch there is some extra chemistry needed to get the full effect of the CO2. If plants grown under Co2 really do transpire less, it seems to me that magnesium could immediately become the next limiting factor, but I wont say this is certain, just putting it out there that I believe it is a possiblilty.
The current world record is outdoors, so while CO2 could be a game changer, apparently its not 100% there yet, and there may be another level to it.
I do think if people figure out how to get the best of all these worlds, we'll be into 3k pumpkins!

Hopefully you're the one to get us there.
