Building on Savage's Sink Source Relationship. Sieve tubes are the transporters of fluid into the stem and pumpkin. Seams to say > Add plenty of K early on for a bigger stem. Thinking its Prolly wise to ensure maximum Solubility of K well before the fruiting bud develops?

Basically it means that you're looking for the fastest transportation of fluid, so the goal is to either increase the flow rate by increasing pressure, or increasing the size of "hose" that's its traveling through, and the genetic breeding of giants has caused it to increase the size of its "hoses"?

I think the plants naturally adjust the size of their plumbing so that the phloem flow rate is relatively constant. I researched that for tomatoes, and basically the phloem cant flow faster, but the piping can get bigger. That was the general impression I got.
