Looking for input on additional excessive heat protection during pollination and rapid fruit growth. I am trying a 30% shade cloth over my Domingo plants. Any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Compost especially light colored straw will reflect a lot of heat or even just keeping the soil loose might help dissipate heat.

Aluminet shade cloth (excellent), fan (see soaking activated charcoal by Penn. Dutch "Yoder" on cooling chicken coops and houses), activated charcoal and blow fan over this lying charcoal flat in front of it after it is soaked overnight in water. Like a swamp fan but less water. I litre bottle, fill 1/2 with water, add 4 ozs. of salt,shake until no salt particles floating around and put in freezer overnight, MAKE SURE TO LEAVE AT LEAST 1" of air in top of bott;e since as it freezes it swells up. hang these behind maybe 2 litre bottles and zip tie to back of fan turn on fan it is a game changer. Don't plant right by it as I got 2 BER's only right under the fan, temp. change humidity etc. That's the jist anyways and it's cheap and works great. The aluminet shade alone is really great although being WV mostly very hot. I cover mine completely with it at 40%.

Of course remember to use a plastic bottle glass will blow. It works and you'll save money.
