I was just wondering what labs you guys are using and how satisfied you are with their results and recommendations. In the past I have used Penn State University Labs and more recently Logan Labs. Some growers use Western Laboratories and Waypoint Analytical. Logan for me was better than Penn State which gave no recommendations of much value.

I’ve been confused by the results using both A&L and Western Labs... I think the amount of soil they use is so small there can be variations especially in calcium I have seen variations that just don’t make sense because both samples were the same but it comes back and one says the calcium is twice as high as the other sample. I am skeptical and I no longer expect consistent results from soil tests from anyone. They really ought to offer full and complete disclosure about the margins for error both in taking samples and testing them.

But even if the tests are only 80-90 % accurate it’s better than nothing. They are mostly accurate...lol.

I have used multiple testing labs and found the Midwest testing labs in Omaha, Nebraska to be one of the best. I would get their recommendations the first time at least.

There is wide variation among the different laboratories. That is why it is usually recommended that you stick with one lab. I am presently using Logan Lab and will probably stay there. It is discouraging though to see these variations.
