Thank you for all that participated in the Zacheart cross tomato contest! Although these were not huge tomato's by any means, it is about the spirit of the competition that is important.

1st: BNOT 4.19 ($100, 1925.5 Gantner, tomato paper weight. You get your Gantner back!) 2nd: Hayden 3.90 ($50 + tomato paper weight) 3rd: Porkchop 3.27 ($25 + tomato paper weight).

4th: Q-Tip 2.81 5th: eSheel 2.92 6th: wolfpack83 1.93 7th: Wixom Chris 1.90 8th: Steve O. 1.92 Garden Rebel: 4.70 but I did not count. Home court advantage!

If there are any mistakes or missing info, let me know. In addition, all growers that reported will get 5 seeds from the cross I made this year: 4.28 Spaziani (7.10 Foss Big Zac x 8.22 Marley Domingo) that will be named "Big Marley".

Also, 5 seeds from the 4.70 Spaziani Zacheart. There will be a "Big Marley" competition next year! No doubt, there will be larger results with this cross. I gave this cross some thought from the beginning of the year. Prizes box for places 1-3 will be sent out Monday or Tuesday.
Remaining places and seeds will be sent out later when I send out normal seeds.
Thank you again! And remember, it is about the spirit of the competition!

There will be a photo of the prizes up on my diary soon. It takes a little time to upload to BP.

You didn't see the mistake eSheel? You got 4th and Q-tip got 5th, not the other way around. You are moving up!

Wait, I wasn't done yet. In 9th place: Glenomkins 1.25. You showed up at one of the premiere weigh-offs in the world with a 5.04 so you are no slouch.

Thanks for the contest Rebel. I still think you should be the first place winner...4.70 was awesome. I want the paper weight, you can keep the $100, donate it to next year if you want, and as far as the Gantner that comes back to me...hmmm, I cant just keep sending it away. I will put it up for auction on the auction message board..all proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association...after all this was the Zacheart competition.

First, thank you for your energy in the giant tomato community. Your efforts are appreciated, although not stated very often. That is nice you want to contribute to next years prize, but the packages are packaged. You except your prize like a winner! After you receive your prize you can do what you want with it..

Bob, that's awesome. Invest that $100 into your 'tomatoes for all' project.

Yes, thanks... I will return some seeds to you and I think your Big Marley might be the one I’d want to use for the winter grow.

Was the seed count good enough...?!

Yes, a couple hundred. I won't be sending seeds out for the regular requests for a couple of weeks at least. For the winter grow I'd pick something else unless you want to wait.

Thanks Rick, the prize package arrived today. Thank you very much. I am looking forward to next years cross competition. The BigMarley is probably going to be the favorite cross to win. I am trying to cross the Delicious x Brutus Magnum this year..maybe next winter will try the BigMarley x MegamuttD. Hope we can keep the cross competition going for a very long time.

1625.5 Gantner is up for auction:

I think I will be growing tomatoes only next year...I will definitely contribute to next years prize package.
