            | VTJohn | Jericho Vermont | Hi watermelon growers.I was searching through my collection of old seeds for someone and stumbled across two 239 Leonard watermelon seeds. I know it is too late this year to plant them but would like to see them grown as I believe it is a pretty nice seed.

            | Charles B.(Team GWG/WWGG) | Grant, AL | Yes John that is an awesome seed and has produced many fat melons!! | 6/3/2020 8:03:57 AM |

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | John, I didn't think there was a single one left! That seed really stood out as a great one. Since that time it is hard to say if any other seed has stood so clearly above the rest. I have always wondered why that is so with the melons. I call them silver bullet seeds. | 6/3/2020 8:21:42 AM |

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | It is easy to pick out silver bullet seeds with the AG's. In my opinion it is an easy progression to see. something like this 1068, 1385, 1725,2009, 2145. I would love to hear if any melon growers out there see a genetic progression in our seed lines. | 6/3/2020 8:24:29 AM |

            | Charles B.(Team GWG/WWGG) | Grant, AL | Big moon, two silver bullet watermelon seeds that I can think of right now are Chris’s 302 and Frank’s 199.5 | 6/3/2020 3:51:46 PM |

            | Charles B.(Team GWG/WWGG) | Grant, AL | And Marvin’s 255 | 6/3/2020 3:52:25 PM |

            | HankH | Partlow,Va | I agree Charles. Isn't the 302 a 239 X self? I think that is what I remember.
I know the 199.5 grew Frank's 305 and both have done very well. The 305 is certainly a sought after seed.
My pb is 3/4 239 and 1/4 255 tracing the genetics back.

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | Thank's Charles. What would you say is the hottest seed right now? The 302? | 6/5/2020 8:17:28 AM |

            | Charles B.(Team GWG/WWGG) | Grant, AL | Big Moon, in my opinion it has to be the 302! It seems like Chris grows a 300+ lb melon every time he grows that seed and several other growers have grown huge melons from that seed as well. Three of the top 4 melons grown last year had the 302 in the cross and it has been in the cross of the biggest melon grown each year since 2016. Just to mention a few, Chris Kent, Frank Mudd, Todd Dawson, Andrew Vial, and Jeremy Lindley have all grown huge melons with the 302! | 6/5/2020 9:23:54 AM |

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | Wow! The 302 has produced some really nice melons. | 6/7/2020 8:18:06 AM |

            | jsterry | East Tennessee | The 302 is a 251 sibbed | 6/7/2020 4:08:09 PM |

            | HankH | Partlow,Va | Thanks Jeremy....so looking at the GPC info page Chris grew two 251's in 2014. One was the great 239 Leonard X 316 Edwards.
 The other was 316 Edwards(Traditional WR) X 350 Kent(World Record).

No matter which plant grew the 302 what a family tree!!
