Hi All,

Looking for a beginners guide to giant watermelons. Last year was my first year growing them and I enjoyed it. Now next year I want to really give them the attention and the care needed for growing them. Is there a basic beginners guide for giant watermelons out there?

The book that got me off to a good start was "How To Grow Giant pumpkins 2" by Don Langevin. Although somewhat dated now, much of the advice in that book is still very important for a modern grower to know.

Lloyd Bright's book on how to grow giant watermelons is a great book to have for melon growers. He has some really neat pictures from back in the 20's and 30's. You can get the book from his website. I believe it is giantwatermelons.com

Lloyd Bright's book is great. The pumpkin book's by Don Langevin also will help with watermelons.
