Need advice on practical techniques for decontaminating melon patch. Space limitation prevents using "new ground." Should I begin decon process as soon as this year's melons are harvested? Input wouild be greatly appreciated. Regards, Clutch

This year, as soon as I pulled my melons, I cleaned beds of everything, and tilled. Then planted mustard, I will let it grow until spring. Then I will weed eat, and till in. Then water heavily, and cover with plastic to solarize.

Im glad you posted that question. Yesterday I removed all vines from the patch. I did have 'southern blight' this year. Took it toll. Solarizing for sure.
