I had 2 8’ plants that were planted 18 inches apart and they had over 20 secondaries they were starting to grow in each other when both had females just over 7’ out. I pulled one where the female flower turned yellow and collapsed well before pollination then a few days later the female on the other also turned yellow. Could it be root competition between the plants or that they were simply too small? If it’s in the soil here’s the test from spring. https://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=357924 .
