David your best chance is to find an 1109 selfed seed. These seeds, to my knowledge are gone. Last couple years they were selling for $400-$500 per seed because there were only 2-3 sold at auction all season.

Good luck! You're about 4 years too late to find them i think. Maybe look for the 1778 Jutras, 1838 Jutras or 1997 tobeck? I know i got those all at auction decently priced, and they've produced well for 1109×self/Sib Id be willing to send you them for what I paid for them, except I have 0 guarantee theyd make it over the border (and Im not picking up the seeds until end of march) PGPGA live auctions has a 1778 in lot 12, and there's a few auctions still to happen, im sure you'll have some seeds. And if not, just remember to watch the auctions next year, there will be plenty of giant squash available then too.
