I had my well water tested, it came back with a pH of 8.1. Do I need to add some sort of acid for sprays etc? What are your Thoughts and personal experiences.

Supposedly water minerals have a bad effect on foliar applications. The ph isnt a mineral but it might indicate that you have minerals in your water. Have you tested the water for the ppms of salts/minerals?

The water is good drinking water though.

A lot of growers are using battery acid. It’s relatively cheap. Not sure on rate.

If adding acid to water remember to do it that way round and not water to acid
"do what you oughta, add acid to water"

I have similar numbers. I used PH Down in 2023 and didn't really notice a huge difference from 2022 . I didn't use it last year and had a much better year. It might help a little but In my opinion it's not worth the hassle.

I wouldn´t go with battery acid tbh citric acid is occuring naturally and is produced by bacteria anyway to break down nutrients.

Sulfuric acid is what I use, mine is 8.8 it only takes a few tablespoons to lower it it to a 6.8 in a 300 gallon tote.
