Hi,

The title says it all, one pumpkin lays on his vine and it's quite firm, and I can't put anything in between.

Will this be a disadvantage? Any suggestion welcome

I would cut off the secondary and leaf stack at the pumpkins stem,that may be what caused the stem crack.If this is your keeper you may able to bend the vine out from under it.Move the vine gradually at the warmest part of the day just small amounts over a weeks time.The other choice is to cut off the vine after the pumpkin

yeah, good one - i might not have thought to bend the VINE;
i suggest getting some material under this predicament, perhaps some 1/2"- to 1"-thick foam board, like housing insulation---thennnnnn, you could put in bamboo stakes with rubber hose around them to soften the pressure points on the vine as you adjust it away from the fruit - you can ALSO delicately move and 'hold in place' the pumpkin USING the blossom end of the fruit, since you may have the same problem once the fruit gets big enough to hit the vine again. the stakes' placement into the material would allow you you incrementally adjust each of these parameters - i know IIIIIII would hit a rock upon each attempt, lol---eg

That bamboo stick is already in place, but touching the pumpkin not the blossom end. And rocks....I hope the pumpkin will "rock" in 2 months or so...

Can't push it more than this, at least it's not on the vine anymore...
