Had a bad thunderstorm last night with high winds rain and bad hail. Both plants are destroyed, not just hail holes in the leaves the mains are shredded/exploded (posted pics in my diary this morning, jeffp). Huge amount of rain, the soil is like pea soup, I've never seen it like this. Don't know where to start cleaning.
Its a shame i really wanted to see if the 832 would be as pretty as its mother.

I did plant a little 692 seedling at the opposite end of the patch on 5-26 with 1 true leaf as i didn't trust the 692 I was growing. The little guy is in the cold frame so it was protected and very happy. I figure if I push it I'll have a pollination around july 10 which isnt too terrible.

Really sorry to see that Jeff. They look terrible. I've got 2 of your 692s growing and 2 of the 1462s (although the wind snapped the main on one of them).

Lots to clean in the yard, the trees and flowers took a beating but are ok. Vegetables are 80% ok.

I do have the little 692 going and i figure about 40-45 days from in the ground to pollination.

Don't pull them...Give them a week and see what you have. We had a storm like this in 2005. That stripped and damaged the main. The plants went into a huge growth period, and rebounded.

Thank you all for your condolences!
The 692 is shot, it already had issues and the main was busted again but the 832 which was 100% healthy sort of resembles a plant this morning. Its main was damaged but a secondary before that damage is in just the right spot to carry on. Ill give that one some time as it will take a week for this to dry out.

I received several generous offers from fellow WNY growers. Andy Wolf provided me with a 191 Kapelari FP and Jim Block gave me a 1904 steil plant right out of his patch, pics are in my diary. Thanks guys.

Thank Jeff, doing very well here.

Almost time again to stop and see the old man in Clarence center.

As far as growing again...maybe once you join the 1600 # club 😏.
