Centennial Colorado

Hi all,
I am selecting my plants and would like some quick input as to which plant you would select between the 2416.5 Haist and 1928.5 Daletas. They are both growing similar with slower secondary vines and faster main vines. I like both options and want to be confident in my decision. I won't be able to upload new pictures, but the recent pictures of the two reflect the options well. I will select my plant hopefully later tonight.

If it was me, I'd go with the 2416.5 Haist. But, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

1928.5 is that the 2363 Holland x 2624.6 Willemijns? I dont want to affect your decision

2416 Haist it produced way over the charts for most growers who grew it last year and no reason why it won’t do it again this year. That would be my deciding factor plus most plants don’t show what they have until the weather gets good and your into June and later. To pick the best plant when they are close and only in the ground 2-4 weeks is in my opinion not possible you need more time but I realize a choice has to be made.

One of the photos in your blog shows a plant with lots of yellowing in several of the leaves. Cull that one, and have a nice season!

My 2416 grew 1462 and was 18% heavy. Average growth rate for the plant and the pumpkin grew slow by OTT value but it was obviously thick...Pics in my 2019 diary. I know of another that was much bigger but was damaged, so it can produce. I have my 692 in the ground now which is the 2005haist x 2416haist, it has a similar look to the 2416 including the yellow flecks on the leaves.

I ended up choosing the Daletas. I thought the Haist would win, but Daletas grew 1 foot yesterday and Haist only grew 9 inches. Also secondaries where more developed on the Daletas. Thanks for the input. Haist I can say would have won any other spot than this spot. Much potential. A local grower by the name of Chad New came over and helped me decide. He grew a 1367 pound pumpkin and is the city record holder. Hope all have a great growing season and much appreciation for the advice.
