Well this has been the shortest season in my history of growing,as the event has been cancelled and its well over a 1000 miles to the closest weigh-off, assuming I could go into Canada and be able to enter one there.. so this season looks to be officially over for me .. really sucks.. but I'll keep growing this year anyway , just to see what could have been

Dale, you're on my fantasy pumpkin team and I'd hate to lose you. Josiah Brandt drove twice 36 hours straight 1500 miles to the Elk Grove weigh off from Wisconsin. Something for you to think about.

Very sorry to hear, can't believe they cancelled so early. If I were the GPC, I would allow you to weigh on a certified scale given the circumstances and your location.

I'm wondering if we are not coming to the point where we may have to come up with Plan B. I wonder if the powers that be would allow weighing in locally on a certified scale with witnesses and pics? Could be some records broke and never get certified because of no traditional weigh sites. I think the Executive Board should start considering this, or other options, now so all the political bullshit can be worked out before October. They are probably already on top of this, but I know the membership is really concerned and should be kept up on any Plan B in progress. Everybody stay safe.

Wiley, that's the spirit. A good coach has to be their to support his growers. lol. Dale, if you have a North American record growing this year, Wiley will chip in on gas to have it weighed.

Seriously though, it is my understanding that the GPC will accept entries weighed on certified scales.

The way things are going I wouldn’t count on borders being open by weighoff time. I really doubt that ours will be a go as it’s part of the fair. They have canceled fairs well into Aug now. I’m saving my resources for next season, this one is for experimenting. Maybe next year.

Yes... there's a most-miles-ever-driven-to-a-weigh-off opportunity here.

Yup the certified scale option at the patch is what we are trying to get done now, assuming I need a scale lol , bright side is I am not stuck to a Sept1st weigh off and will have 2 or 3 weeks of extra time to grow .. we will see

Anchorage to southern BC or northern Washington = 2200 miles. And the roads aren't interstate quality. I don't think he'll do a Josiah Brandt number.

GPC has been in contact with The Alaska Midnight Sun weigh off, they have not signed up for the 100$ Site Adjustment for this year, but are thinking about it. They need to sign up to be qualified for a change of venue qualification for this year.
Deadline for this one time allowance will end June 15th for ALL Sites. $100 Site Fee, new WO sites are not eligible.

What about a bunch of growers getting certified scales and having a weigh off at someone's house?
