Im having trouble with birds tearing my leafs up..Has anyone had tgis problem before and if so what did you do to keep them out of your patch?

Birds don't eat pumpkin leaves they eat the bugs on them and leave behind bird strikes. Kill your bugs until then be thankful for the birds.

I have had this problem before. I was Ok with them pecking at the leaves, but what really ticked me off was when they pecked at the young pumpkins. Make sure to cover the pumpkins up as soon as they appear. Birds are tough to scare away, I have tried the glitter tape, scarecrows, plastic owls, etc . they only help a little. Stinky animal repellant sprays don't seem to work either, I guess birds don't have a good sense of smell like mammals do.

I hung a CD by our patio to keep barn swallows from pooping on the furniture,it has worked for that. I had 15 of them on fishing line around the garden they didnt seem to work for squirrels or the birds but the wind snapped them all off in three days. Bird netting is very easy to suspend over a plant
