YES. I am like the Bubba Gump of pumpkin. Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Cupcakes, Pumpkin Scones, Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls, Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Ravioli..Pumpkin Ginger Cookies. We use Hubbard Squash instead of pumpkin though

No.... and if you do not have any pumpkin on hand , just use rutabaga . That is called "mock pumpkin pie". You can fool a lot of pumpkin pie experts with that recipe .

Libby's and many other pumpkin pie is Dickinson pumpkin, which is actually same species as Butternut squash.

I have used Hubbard squash, and Butternut. Both make great pumpkin pie. Tastier and thicker then pumpkins or sugar pumpkin.
