Folks- I am looking into starting up a Giant Pumpkin Podcast, with the ambition of posting recurrent episodes on all things related to the hobby.

Looking for suggestions on topics, interview candidates, and questions that can be answered on air by experts.

email your suggestions: joeailts@gmail.com

Really great idea if you have the time and equipment. I listen to podcasts every day on my way to work and back. I would definitely subscribe.

Oh I meant to add. Of course it’s great to have a bunch of great questions lined up, but some of my favorite podcast I currently listen to are just unscripted convos. I’d love to hear just what life is like for these heavy hitters. How do they balance work, family, etc.

OK Joe, some things I asked around for this winter, or picked up on, but didn't quite get anything that settled my mind...

- How do you calculate the amount of nutrition you are giving your plants and when? Got a whole bunch of "so and so said this much per week per plant" or "I just go by what I always do". How do I, as an educated young man, aspiring to grow bigger pumpkins, get a better handle on how much to give and when, rather than dumping excess on and hoping I don't blow it up?

- What do the heavy hitters ACTUALLY do in their year? I often ask questions that receive vague answers to satisfy the moment, but find later that there is additional details about that information that were glanced over but make a big difference.

3. Get answers to the difficult questions. I drive my professors nuts, because I ask difficult questions about details that I don't quite understand. I wouldn't ask them if I wasn't trying to understand better. Don't discount any question. Simply do your best to provide an informed opinion on the matter, whether immediately through experience, or in a timely matter through research and your connections.

It's a tall order, but if you could do those things, I'd figure out the whole podcast situation and subscribe.
