Multiple companies manufacture/sell these "root growth" pots and I was wondering if anyone else has tried them? The claim is, they keep roots from circling via air pruning. Once the root reaches the slots cut into the pot, it desiccates and branches. I can see how this would be a benefit in nursery plants for girdling concerns, but I wonder if there is any added benefits with pumpkins/vegetables?

It's always fun trying new things in that attempt to catch lightening in a bottle. I bought a few for this season in 12" diameter, if there's any interesting results, I'll make sure to post. Here's a link below.

Thank you Mikkal, it looked like he had poorer results, but I wonder if any difference would be had after planting. It looked to me, that the pots did what they were designed to do.

I use the air pot propagation pot for sprouting in I loved it so much I bought a case I wouldn't sprout in any other pot.. I don't let mine sit in them I up pot to a 2 gallon a few days after they sprout

I am planning to germ mine in paper towels and then place them into 3 gallon grow bags.

Sprouting definitely, long term i think it's going to hinder the plant size.
I absolutely loved the way yhey come apart and may wrap one in gorilla tape to seal the holes, and have that convient transplant
