I was in lowes and saw this stuff. Has anyone used it? I did see a quick segment on it awhile back. It is supposed to last 3 to 5 years.

I would be worried about getting to much rain and then having this in the soil

Mike I used a similar product years ago. I relay noticed it after a rain the grains of it on top of the soil really expanded and held moisture. I don't think that those in the soil could expand that much. Can not say if it helped or not.

I use them in hanging baskets we grow for sale at the school for plants that take up a lot of water. Helps them not to have to be watered as often. Each particle looks like jello afer absorbing water. That is posting mix and I am not sure how good it would be in soil. Would definitely be mess if you used to much.
