Just received a couple nice seeds in my bubble. Both seeds are from 2016 and are damaged on the non-pointed end, where I can see the inner cot (very likely due to postal damage). Are these seeds viable to germinate this year? If not, I am not sure about the protocol, if it's ok to ask for another seed? Thanks, Kurt

The seeds are probably OK if they are damaged on the opposite side of the pointed end. All the life is in the embryo. (the tip)

They should be ok. The cot leaves may be missing the tip of the leaf. Should not be a problem.

I did receive some seeds one year that were totally destroyed by the post office. I emailed the sender and asked if it wasn't to much trouble if I could have another. He sent me some more and was real nice about. If you really want to plant those seeds and are concerned it cant hurt to ask.
