Just wondering if anyone has tried a rooting hormone to jumpstart the taproots on the leaf nodes?

I see people put mycorrhiza at the leaf nodes and then put dirt over those nodes. This is a great video to look at.

They root pretty easily if you give them the moisture. But I don't see how it could hurt either. Their is a liquid called dip and grow, a grower could use a paintbrush and hit each node on the top and bottom. Is that what you did gtafreak93? It would be interesting to hear more about your results.

There is a gel type that may help in keeping it moist

Yes, I've used Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) for the past few years and the extra rooting I have been seeing along secondaries has been fantastic. I also use mycorrhizal when burying leaf nodes after they have sprouted roots.

The Paton brothers have also had some good results with these rooting hormone if I remember correctly.

North shore Glenn, thanks for sending the rain down! We received over 1 inch last night!

We did use rooting hormone two years ago but found the real answer for good rooting was the pot system we use. Keeping the root nodes dark, we found, is the best way to get the roots to form.
I hope this helps Ian
ps Have a look at our vidio diary aimed at helping growers growing to the dizzy heights of today.
