Good source of nitrogen and iron but I heard bad things about it. Can I add it to boost nitrogen or is it more harmful then helpful?

Heavy Metals. It is from Milwaukee Municipal waste. Not sure how they get the organic cert

I know someone who had a couple bags stored in a barn and the raccoons got in and started eating it. Probably lots of beer and bratwurst and Wisconsin cheese in it. I did hear about the heavy metals too.

I agree with Shannon, I would not use it. Once heavy metals are in your soil you can't get them out.

It's basically sewage waste. There is a treatment plant in our town. This same stuff Milorganite has high levels of Cadmium in it and other metals as well. Toxic build up if you plan to make a vegetable garden in the same area. The plant manager I know very well, He highly recommends not to use it in my patch. The state of New York makes the plant do monthly testing of the water that returns into Oriskany Creek. The sewage test always shows high levels of different metals....Bottom line, who knows what people pour down there drains or in there toilets and flush it to treatment plants

Wouldn't it be easier to install a toilet in the patch.. I mean that's what it is... why not save on shipping get it right from the source... lol

Honestly I'll probably just use blood meal or alfalfa meal for nitrogen but was curious about this as it's so cheap
