Thanks Root and all. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg Ron. I'm right on the water\coast and 70's is normal but with the addition of the greenhouse I've been able to keep it pretty close to 85 most days,,,, even on cloudy days. New dirt and much warmer temps has played a huge roll in getting lucky this year.:)

Chris, Yes luck does play a part in growing big pumpkins, but pat yourself on the back. You didn't give up when others might have. You found a great hall of fame mentor. Tried new things, figured out how to grow big down there. I can see a GPC coat coming your way soon. Ron

Chris is definitely a heavy hitter in socal. The time and effort he puts into the hobby amazes me, he's a machine! Well deserved my friend. Socal has 4 major climates, coast, inland, mountain, and desert. Having a greenhouse right on the ocean I think is by far the best growing conditions you could get down here. When it's 110 inland, it's 85 on the coast. Keep up the good work and I know there will be more big ones out of the Dunn patch in the future for sure.
