Does that mean some "monsters" in the making? Here in central MN, it seems the temps. have be favorable so far this summer. Though some places got some very heavy rains, and that could factor in.

Nothing to hide here, just didn't have time to do a full diary this year. I have one good one in the greenhouse on the 1781 and two small ones outside 2185 and 1662. My outside plants got destroyed by hail and wind at day 20 so I had to grow new plants basically. I lost two inside the greenhouse (1724 and 1585) and have one left that I would guess is between 1700 and 1900 pounds at day 66. Hopefully they all keep growing. My outside plants have never looked better for this time of year, now that they are all new. Heat and Cucumber beatles have been my biggest challenge this year after the early wind/hail/hail and hail storms.

If had a hard season with insects frost and you name it! But I'm at around 800 and 850 I'll tape them Friday. My pollination where July 16th lol

I am thinking that Stillwater is going to be another really good event. Early hail here, svbs and cuke beetles. But the weather in may, june and july was good. A little bit colder now but I think the nation's top 10 average will stay at Stillwater

Bubba has lots of courage of that Im sure.If driving 10 hours to take 5th place is bravery.Then call me the cowardly lion.lol I was bluffing & blowing smoke like everybody else last year.I drove 3 hours & won my contest.I took 1st over Quinn & Dave Matt & Jerry.If they aint Big Dogs? Who is? I like to compete locally for the cash $$$$.We are all competing on the GPC board NO ifs ands or buTTS!!Butt if Bob WELLS will always be King in TEXAS."Then I guess it can be said"Ron Wallace will always be King in my book"

Bubba,I know many growers wished to meet you last year at Stillwater. We were under the impression that you were willing to make the drive by what you were posting. Then no show. It was a disservice to the Stillwater growers to post you were coming when you didn't have the intention to. Sorry, your "bluff" didn't sit well with me. But I will get over it.

1734 would have taken 7th place last year at Stillwater, not 5th. I doubt that my little 1000 pounder will be even in the top 25 but to see the amount of big ones all at the same place is awesome.

Dang, sorry about here about that as well Shannon!
You're a heavy hitter in my book....especially when it comes to orange pumpkins and pumpkin carving! I know it's hard to look on the bright side now, but you could get a nice cover crop growing for organic matter, if you so choose.
