The Buffalo weather has declared our county as an epicenter in this summer's drought-severe. Wells are going dr all around me. So far my well is supplying our personal needs. But had to cut way back on gardens. Allegedly the aquifier has dropped down significantly . No real size this summer. Had to make a difficult choice this summer-- household use or garden.. the household won out-of course. The local farmers have cleared out hundreds of acres of woods around me to create new cropland. It will be interesting how this influences water levels in the aquifier and wildlife.

We are ok for this year as far as water but iffy for next
year, most of the wells that dried never came back, our
trees in a lot of our forest have weakened and now are
dying because of our 4 year drought,
I know one thing for sure our water company jacks up
the price of water during a drought and you pay more
for using less water?

The fires are bad this year because of the 5 yr. drought. The chimney fire has come within 2 miles of Hearst Castle at San Simeon on the Ca.coast.
