i have never used epsom salts before, and i see where a lot of good growers do. i'm just wondering, at what stage of growth?, and how much do you use? thank you for any advice;

I'm using 3-5oz into a 55 gallon drum... (800sqft)If your showing deficiency I wouldn't be afraid to put a cup per 55 gallons ..once a week... ?Once every 10 days... ?Who knows... Tissue testing would help you dial it right in...

Do you need to use it? I use it for the sulfur. I grow on a sandy loam soil that will leach out sulfur quickly. I will amend my soil with as many sulfates as I can. I also wait and apply my amendments in strips about two weeks ahead of the growing plant. Then based on tissue tests and experience I will apply Epsom salt at 4oz per plant every five days. I start doing this right before pollination and continue until end of season or the tissue test says I'm high enough. Ron Root

I'm adding 2 tablespoons per 100 gallons of water for magnesium and sulfur. So far, so good, according to tissue tests.

Thanks Ron, I also use it because of my sandy soil the magnesium readily leeches but the calcium does not. I add it to my rotation after the pumpkins are at day 20 p, or when the leaves are telling me they need it.
