I'm thinking of entering a pumpkin into the state fair in Iowa but I can't find any information on how to do so. Like time and date. The gpc site is down. Thanks

iowa fair has all things at fair entered by same people over 65,000 entrys they set a july 1 deadline for this reason its only 5 bucks to enter

ive tried let them open it up just show up enter they said no
they did make for big pumpkin only a aug 1 deadline with pay double entry fee 10 bucks
fairs are different than fall weighoffs where the only event is weighoff so many pigs chickens pies tractors on and on entered so pumpkins aren't there only deal

State fairs are a crap shoot at best! You send your money before you are comfortable that you even have one to take! Just like Patch prep cost, you got to pay up if you're going to play!!!!!!!

If I had known one of my pumpkins was going to quit growing when it did I would have entered it. But I didn't have time to beat the August 1 deadline. In the past I have never entered one because my valley gets late spring frosts and I usually don't have anything of show size ready by early August. Maybe if I can afford a bigger hoop house sometime I may give it a try.

Sounds like going to be a wet day there, I know you must enter early like Don said and 5 dollars to enter plus parking fee around 10 bucks. You can not get in without the parking fee. Not sure how long the fair will stay GPC. I know I enter every year and may not take much of anything. But that's there rules.
