Subject: missing leaves

i know this is a somewhat silly question but. would a main or secondairy vine that has no leaves left on it but is still rooted add any benefit to a growing pumpkin or would it do more harm than good.i ask because i had falling tree wipeout 3/4 of my plants leaves. thanking you all for all your help this year.

If you weren't clipping those prior to burning them then some of them grow out of the dirt. Even some of the ones you thought you clipped will grow.

For sure,There'll be plenty that you can train to fill the space if the plant is healthy

They will come up really fast. Those types (late season vines, leaves) can tend to break off much easier. so you might need to secure them as soon as they touch down.
If you check my diary I had one plant knocked out by a storm and another badly damaged (lost half). I regrew that bad half and staked up over 80 leaves that were collapsed on the good half. I have a 31 day pkn on it that keeps growing too.

I posted on facebook my tree on the pumpkin plant excitement! I don't think the plant will produce a keeper due to an over dose of nitro!

I have witness a pumpkin grow with only a single tap root that came off the stem...
