15 TO 40 pounds a day. There's so many variables.

Hobbit, this is for the question you asked in your diary. I would slowly move that pumpkin to the right, towards the side vine, so that over several days , your kin is more perpendicular to the main vine. move it only in the afternoon when the vines and stem warm up. And only move an 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch at a time. after a few days, you will have more clearance on the left side of the kin. you can also wedge in a pc of foam or foam pool noodle that many people use. as the kin grows, it will slowly push that vine back. just keep a close eye on it every day for too much stress. Looks good, keep it going !

If you get good growth the pumpkin will forward & will start to bend the main vine. Before it kinks you will need to slide pumpkin back. I had to do this in 2014 twice.Once at 1000 lbs & once at 1500 lbs. A strap & come along connected to a pick up works great.Dont try & pull it with a tractor its to risky. You need to leave a loop in the vine that bends towards the fruit. So as it grows forward it have the slack.

Dont worry too much about the secondary. I have left them on all season. It will depend on how much it is in your way. The important thing is that if it starts to grow big sholders, that it does not push back on the main. I have done like bubba with shoving a piece of foam between the main and kin. I check it daily to be sure it is not getting too tight. If it is , you will need to pull kin back as stated above. A good tip is to put a stake in the ground about an inch behind the main vine and stem junction. You can the monitor how fast it is growing back, if any at all. Then you can pull her back if need be.
