First year grower looking for some input on one of my kins. Following kin is 22 DAP as of today and has really started growing the last 3 or 4 days. Was moving pretty slow before but I liked the shape so I got it on mat early last week. Now I have noticed that the left side isn't developing as fast as the rest. I do have another one set on a side but it is less than a week old and did pollinate one on the main Saturday but to early to tell if it took. Not looking to break any records just would like to get a nice size kin on this plant. So my question is with the left side development is the kin doomed to fail further down the road? Any and all input greatly appreciated!!!

Id keep it.You might grow a second on a side vine if size isn't your goal.

If the Saturday one takes i would keep both until the Saturday one is at least day 20 and then see where this one is at by that time if this one is still growing i would cull that Saturday one....
If the Saturday one doesn't take but the side vine does i would let the side grow out until at least day 20 before culling that one.

Usually all the pumpkins on a plant are the same shape. With that being said, it's a gamble either way.

The overall shape doesn't look that bad. I would roll the dice and keep it.

I agree with Ron. Early shape is rarely due to the environment and typically all pumpkins on the same plant will have the same general shape.
