Yesterday I discovered a long split in the main vine of one of my plants (top side), and then I covered it to keep it dry. In my diary I have posted some pics of what I had used as a roof over the split, I thought it might be a helpful suggestion for others who probably have to deal with similar issues sooner or later.

Looks like a great idea. I might paint the split with straight Daconil to prevent rot.
