I have a bigger hot house this year 6x10. Planted seed directly in patch using a light bulb in a 5 gallon pail for heat. Things went well but plant doesnt seem to be busting out of the crate yet. I am starting to wonder if the lack of a natural rain is the issue. There is something about water out of the sky to spark up a plant. Any suggestions??

You're way more south than me but I'm sure you had some colds nights for the last few weeks like most of the area. My vote is for the cold nights (and even cold days this season) being the main culprit.

Don't panic-change anything. You just need heat.

I have been running a heater to go on at 65 degrees. Don't tell my wife. I hope she doesn't notice it on the hydro bill!!

The average daytime high for June has been 16.3C / 61.5f and lows have averaged 7.8C / 46f . temperature today is going to lower those averages . This is bad even by Island standards .

Has this ever been a warmer than normal spring !!

I don't know but my actuater is set to start opening at at 78 degrees so there has been lots of heat in the house.

2 or 3 years ago I had my chosen one pollinated June 18. I would have to say I will be 4 weeks behind that this year, but alot starts to happen July. That is my buisiest and most exciting month in the patch.
