Does burying vines to early hinder the secondaries from growing? I have buried the main vine and noticed that I don't have many secondaries as some of the other grower diaries I am following. And I think we planted about the same time. Some I know I planted before. So to narrow the question. Does burying a main vine that is not showing a secondary keep it from producing a secondary? My mains were about 6 feet before I started burying. They had some small seconadries at that time.

not sure if this is your problem but you do have to make sure you don't cover the little side vine with dirt as you bury as this could delay or even prevent the secondary from growing if its packed with dirt. same goes for blossoms there too if u may want it for pollinating. its easy to cover these as you bury if you arent' careful.

Agreed, at each node be careful not to bury the small bud (secondary) and small flower. Once they really get going you can go back an cover their bases later. If you buried them, try going back and gently removing dirt so they grow out.
