Would it be better to spend money on compost (my o/m is low 2%)or spend the money for kelp, humic acid, silica, amino acids, fulvic acid, etc. I have money set aside for fungicides,
bug sprays and ferts but may need to choose between compost and the kelp etc.

If it was me i would not spend money on compost unless it was good aged manure. I would find a dairy farm and see if you could get some old hay or straw and mix that in it will give a little more OM to get you thru and dont worry to much about weeds dairy farms rotate their crops every 2 or 3 years so their fields are clean and they cut hay early before any go to seed, spend your money on the other goodies, thats just what i would do.

I would go with the Humic, fulvics etc.If your soil is loose? If not loose & would buy some sand.Sand is cheap.Loose soil is more important then organic matter. In my not so humble opinion.

If you work in straw bales which are cheap it will help open the soil add om and helps hold in moisture... i would not use any animal compost no matter how old it is.. I would use some nice leaf compost.. I feel animal compost has a greater possibility of having a disease issue or the potential to have compared to leaf compost.
I would spend my money on correcting soil balance.. I have grown 1400 pounds in 2 % om.
The fulvic you won't need more than 5 pounds max.
Humic I would add more humic compared to kelp.. Somewhere there was a college who did a study I think it was 5 parts humic to 2 parts kelp.. Rutgers university or one of the big named schools
Silica is nowadays in more products than you think.
