Another forest fire in West Kelowna, 400 hectares, 3000 evacuated (including my family)

We had to leave in a rush, I didn't have time to take my pet fish & turtles. There is no power to our home + no food for the pets, they will probably die. The police won't let us go back. We will probably be evacuated for at least another 3 days.

Tough times.

Hang in there! It's best to get out with your life, fires move fast. My sister inlaw lives in Slave Lake and they barely made it out alive when the fire hit. Keep safe, it'll all work out.

Be safe, main thing is your safety. Fish and turtles will be fine without food for a few days too.

So, we got rain here today on the coast. Of course we do, it's heritage day at the Farmer's Institute and I am supposed to bring the chickens for display.
Anyway I really hope this rain gets to the interior.
