How far should you let the main grow before you bury it? Any help is appreciated.

You might ten responses with 14 answers. Different opinions. Some bury right away, some don't bury at all and then there are all points in between. Good luck.

Understanding what you want to accomplish is your starting point. I always start about three to four nodes out the vine, once the vine is resting gently on the ground. I don't bury all the vine, just the nodes, allowing room for the secondary to come out. My objective is to gain as much root growth as possible, I don't have too bad of SVB problem, but that may all change!

I don't bury the main..but I do bury all secondaries..some small pkn grower told me to keep an eye on main,,,watching for rot or what have you...as leaves die off,,,sometimes they land on main vine and start rot spots,,,best to remove dead leaves..or flowers...including the pedals off the female flower you pregnate(don't disturb the lobes)but remove the rotting pedals
